WAUKESHA COUNTY -- 50-year-old Kim Liebrecht is being charged with his 13th OWI offense after being pulled over on I-94 West in Brookfield. Police say he struck the median barrier, causing other drivers to swerve to avoid a crash. When police caught up with Liebrecht, he admitted to having several drinks.

Waukesha District Attorney Brad Schimel says putting Liebrecht on parole or supervision hasn't worked in the past. He believes at this point keeping him away from society is best.

Liebrecht has drunk driving offenses dating back to 1989, and has served four and a half years in prison. He is currently in jail on $100,000 bail.
