Crews repair late night water main break in Cudahy
CUDAHY -- Freezing cold temperatures are causing more trouble for road crews.
A day after a water main break on Juneau and Water in downtown Milwaukee, crews in Cudahy had to fix a pipe that burst around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
Workers blocked off a stretch of road near Packard and Layton early Wednesday morning, while they drilled a hole in the pavement to make repairs. We're told the water main break was repaired around 5:30 a.m.
The Cudahy Water Department said this water main break is a common thing in the Midwest when the ground starts moving, because the cast iron pipes were installed in the 50's and 60's.
