RACINE -- Local We Energies crews set out Wednesday to help Hurricane Irene victims.

"It's kind of exciting to get to see something different, help people out. I'm kind of looking forward to it," said We Energies employee Bradd Gunville.

Thirty We Energies crew members left Racine for Providence, Rhode Island.

Half the state lost power when the tropical storm first hit.

The Wisconsin linemen will be there for at least two weeks and expect to pull 16 hour days.
