Waukesha woman accused of illegally practicing dentistry in her home
WAUKESHA -- A 35-year-old woman is under investigation for performing orthodontic care on patients in her Grand Avenue home. Police executed a search warrant on the property and found numerous items used in orthodontic care.
Officials say the unlicensed woman was charging about one thousand dollars to put braces on people and for follow up care. The procedures were allegedly done on the woman's living room couch. The investigation began after three people went to the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic with problems after the woman treated them.
Those people are said to be suffering from severe tooth and gum issues after the woman allegedly put braces on them. At least one of the victims is suffering from gingivitis. The investigation continues, but the case could be referred to the District Attorney's Office for possible charges by the end of the week.
