UWM community reacts to loss of school's chancellor to Marquette
MILWAUKEE - Chancellor Michael Lovell's new job at Marquette University is a loss for UW-Milwaukee.
CBS 58 had to break the news to some students on campus, but those we spoke with say they are not upset Lovell is leaving to go across town.
UW System President Ray Cross said in statement that Lovell is an energetic leader and will be a great asset to the future of Marquette.
In a letter to the UWM community, Lovell said he will continue to promote the work of student, faculty and staff even after his tenure at the university comes to an end.
University leaders says its had a number of strong leaders.
In a statement, UW System Board of Regents President Michael Falbo said, "building on their strong legacies, UW-Milwaukee will continue to deliver on its promise of powerful ideas and proven results."
UW Systems has not yet outlined the process to find Lovell's replacement.
