MILWAUKEE -- UW-Milwaukee Police Chief Michael Marzion has been placed on administrative leave.

According to a statement posted on the university's website, Marzion was placed on leave June 16 following a report done by an independent investigator hired by the university to investigate a complaint filed against Marzion under UWM's Discriminatory Conduct Policy.

Marzion will remain on leave until school officials issue a final decision.

"UWM is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all students, faculty and staff," the statement reads. "We are confident that our police force, under the interim direction of Assistant Chief Greg Habeck, will provide outstanding service to students and members of our campus community."
