MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man is sentenced to six months in prison after defrauding the Medicaid system.

Tyvex Benford's grandmother took part in a program that allowed her to hire people to provide care services to her. Benford was receiving Medicaid funds for work he did for his grandmother.

According to the criminal complaint, Benford submitted six fraudulent time reports. He sent in a time card saying he worked 394 hours between December 22, 2012 and January 3, 2013. Investigators found Benford was in the custody of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office during this time.

Benford has been sentenced to six months in prison, two years probation, and was fined $3,546.
