Medical examiner's officer investigates two weekend co-sleeping deaths

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating two co-sleeping/dangerous sleeping situation deaths from the weekend. A two-month-old boy and five-month-old boy died while sleeping next to family members.

Two-month-old Kamari Scott died April 21st while co-sleeping with his mother. Kamari's mother Otisia Scott says the baby woke her up late at night, and after feeding him she placed the infant in the bed next to her. She woke up a couple hours after Kamari's latest feeding, and found the infant unresponsive. She told investigators she called 911 and placed her son in his crib. According to the medical examiner's report, was trained in CPR and performed it on her son.

Five-month-old Jeremiah Walker was found lying face down next to his twin sister on April 19th at 11:00 p.m. Walker's head was under his sister's stomach. The medical examiner's report says the father performed CPR on the infant until emergency personnel responded.
