Family Comes to Terms With Young Man's DeathTwo Men Arrested
RACINE-- 22-year-old Jeremiah Brooks was found by police Monday afternoon shot to death in his car. 21-year-old Kiori Billups and 20-year-old Latriell Thurman were arrested in connection Thursday.
According to the criminal complaint, Brooks had been Billups' drug dealer. But this time, Billups and Thurman attempted to rob Brooks, and that's when things went wrong. Brooks was shot, drove off, and crashed into a parked car. Billups and Thurman appeared in court today. Their bonds were set at $150,000. Their next court date is August 1. Brooks' funeral is Tuesday. His family set up a fund with Chase Bank in Racine for those who would like to donate to Brooks' family. |
