Train slams into van
TOWN OF DELAFIELD --- At 8:19 a.m. on Saturday Waukesha County got a call reporting a van had just been struck by a Canadian Pacific Railroad train on Highway KE at Glacier Road, in the Town of Delafield.
Officers arrived and found the driver of the van was not injured. The van had bee pulling a trailer was traveling northbound on CTH KE, in the area of Old North Shore Road. As the driver approached the railroad crossing, he was unable to stop and took evasive action. The van left the roadway and became disabled on top of the railroad tracks. The driver was able to get out of the van before the train hit. The 84-car Canadian Pacific Railroad train struck the van and pushed it about a half a mile. No one on the train was injured. This incident is being investigated by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and the Canadian Pacific Railroad Police. |
