Train quiet zone reinstated in Wauwatosa
Wauwatosa -- Railroad crossing quiet zones have been reinstated in Wauwatosa.
According to the city's website, the Federal Railroad Administration has approved their application. "Within 21 days from the date of notice, railroads using the quiet zone corridor must cease routine sounding of train horns at crossings."
Earlier this year, representatives with the city said the Federal Railroad Administration failed to process a waiver in time to keep the quiet zones. Engineers had to sound their horn between 15 to 20 seconds before a crossing.
