Thousands expected at Temple Shooting Victims' memorial service
OAK CREEK - Friday morning at Oak Creek High School, a memorial service will be held for the six victims in Sunday's mass shooting at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek.
The service will be more like a traditional Western wake than a traditional Sikh funeral. From 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. the community will join in grieving with the victim's families. There will also be a viewing of the bodies. Sikh music will be played and a large screen will show pictures of the six victims. After that, from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. there will be a few speeches from the victims' family members, as well as politicians. CBS 58 has confirmed that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will be there. It's expected anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 people may show up. |
