UPDATE: Third child dies after Racine fire
RACINE---7-year-old Michael Scott has died following a fire in Racine that also killed his two older sisters.
Michael died at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee on Friday, the day after a blaze broke out in his home. The Racine Police Department's preliminary investigation indicates this fire was an accident. According to the Racine Medical Examiner's Office, Michael's cause of death is likely smoke inhalation. The fire started at about 12:46 a.m. Thursday morning at 1916 Linden Ave. in Racine. There were four children trapped in the home when firefighers arrived and began battling the fire. Two of the children, 9-year-old Dayja Scott and 8-year-old Dalija Scott died and the other two children were transported to Children’s Hospital for treatment. 5-year-old Luther Patterson remains in the hospital in very poor condition. |
