ELKHORN---A key character has been stolen from an Elkhorn holiday display.

There's a gaping hole in a local community display where Santa used to stand next to Frosty the Snowman.

This may not be up there in the annals of major crime, but it was disturbing enough for police to put out a call for the public's help.

Police also released a photo showing where the six foot tall wooden Santa should be. It has a hole cut out so little boys and girls could poke their head through and pose for a picture.
