MILWAUKEE -- The two teenagers who started a fire at El Rey grocery store on January 3rd were sentenced in court today. Alexander Karsten,17, and Miguel Rubio,18, have both been sentenced to three years probation, and fined $17,000.

Rubio and Karsten set fire to the structure housing the grocery carts which started the blaze that caused hundreds of thousands in damage to the family owned grocery store.

The boys told police they were in the area of the grocery store trying to find cigarettes to smoke and they claimed it was the lit cigarettes that may have caused the fire.

The judge also ordered the boys to spend six months in a halfway house.
