MILWAUKEE -- An 18-year-old accused of accidentally killing his friend was in court Thursday.

According to court records, Tieno told police he and Leandro Marin, 17, found a backpack that had a loaded gun inside.

Police say he had the gun in his hand when it accidentally went off while they were both inside an SUV near 32nd and Mitchell.

Marin was found shot to death inside the vehicle.

Tieno pled not guilty and was bound over for trail. His next court appearance is later this month.

If a jury convicts him, Tieno could go to prison for decades.
