FOND DU LAC - An investigation is underway into a suspected methamphetamine lab at a home near North Lincoln Avenue and Johnson Street.

Nearby residents say they were told to stay away by responding law enforcement which cordoned off the property and carefully collected evidence for several hours.

The fire department tells CBS 58 News that they expect to be on location well into the night, possibly as late as midnight.

Apparently there is a need for decontamination at the scene, according to a source familiar with the operations.

Fond du Lac Police tell CBS 58 News that they were serving a warrant to arrest a 39 year old man when they uncovered what appeared to be an illegal drug making lab.

No formal charges have been filed, but the man they were after remains in custody.
