WEST ALLIS -- 51-year-old Michael Seifert has been charged following the West Allis standoff he had with police earlier this week. After refusing to comply with West Allis Police and threatening them, police took action.

On June 8, 2013 at around 1:00 a.m. West Allis Police received a domestic disturbance call in the 1700 block of S. 70th St. A male suspect was inside a residence and would not come out to speak with officers.

Officers secured the area surrounding the residence and as negotiations began, the male ultimately came outside. After police attempted dialog and interaction with the suspect for nearly two and a half hours, the suspect threatened officers while standing in his doorway holding a shotgun. Officers discharged firearms, striking the suspect in his arm and possibly grazing the side of his face/eye area.

The male was taken into custody and transported to Froedtert Memorial Hospital for treatment. The Milwaukee County District Attorney's office has since confirmed the charges for Seifert, including but not limited to: recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon, domestic abuse, and failure to comply with an officer's attempt to take a person into custody.
