Summerfest announces classic rockers as headliner

MILWAUKEE -- Thursday is proving to be another cold one in Milwaukee, but Summerfest is helping to heat things up.

The Big Gig is rocking this year. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are headlinging the Marcus Amphitheater on Friday, June 28.

The band has survived the ever-changing climate of music, has sold tens of millions of records and entertained crowds all over the globe.

Tickets go on sale March 8 at 11:00 a.m.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers join a list of pretty impressive headliners.

They include:

June 29: Jason Aldean

July 2: New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men

July 4: Rush

July 5: Tim McGraw
