Student With Autism Crowned Homecoming KingAt Nathan Hale High School in West Allis
WEST ALLIS- Sam Menzia is the kind of kid who never let his autism become a barrier to relating to others kids.
Sam has serious autism. But, it hasn't stopped him from becoming a wide receiver on Nathan Hale High School's football team. He's also on the wrestling team. He says he has a lot of friends because he always tells them never quit. He also has an infectious smile and is full of energy. It came as a no surprise to those who know him well that Sam would be voted on the Homecoming Court. That alone would be a great story, of how Sam has been a role model and setting a fine example for fellow students. On Friday, his classmates decided to set an example of their own and award him Homecoming King. |
