BadgerCare Plus recipients dropped from program
MADISON -- Several people may be dropped from Wisconsin's BadgerCare Plus program due to new income limits set for the program. In a letter, the state informs BadgerCare Plus recipients they will have new health care options through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace.
State law says adults who make above 100% of the Federal Poverty Level are now ineligible for health coverage under the BadgerCare Plus program. New laws also say children with household income over 300% will no longer be eligible for the BadgerCare Plus.
In a letter to BadgerCare Plus recipients, the state says pregnant women, people enrolled in Medicaid for the Elderly, Blind or Disabled will not be affected.
Changes in the BadgerCare Plus program are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2014.
