MILWAUKEE -- John Spooner has been found guilty of First Degree Intentional Homicide in the murder of Darius Simmons in the first phase of his trial. During the next phase of the trial, the court will consider Spooner's insanity plea.

Today, his attorney questioned if his client is competent to proceed with that phase of the trial. After a short pause in proceedings, Spooner has been ruled competent and will stand trial.

Against the advice of his attorneys, he took the stand, and was questioned about the shooting. Spooner told the court he "didn't feel that bad" in reference to how he felt about shooting Darius Simmons.
