Resident shoots neighborhood dog to save teenage girl
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Police are investigating a vicious dog attack report.
It happened Monday night near 76th and Grantosa.
Animal Control officers on the scene tell CBS 58's Bill Walsh that the dog will be put down.
One neighbor does claim the dog has attacked before.
"That dog bit a gentleman out here before down the street. I told the man you need to go report that."
But Ayana Bufford says she didn't know if the man ever took her advice.
CBS 58 News has learned that the dog's name is Buster, a five year old pit bull mix.
The owner says she got home Monday night and put the dog on a tether in the backyard. She says she later heard a commotion in the alley and saw the dog attacking a teenage girl.
There were other kids in the alley yelling and screaming and the dog got agitated.
Apparently a neighbor got a gun and hit the dog in the leg.
The owner says she told the neighbor to shoot.
