MILWAUKEE -- Tuesday's snowstorm is snarling some people's travel plans at General Mitchell International Airport. A couple dozen flights have been impacted, several going to or from Chicago where an estimated 10 inches of snow is falling.

By Tuesday morning, more than 1,000 flights in Chicago were delayed or canceled.

A spokesperson at General Mitchell International Airport , Harold Mester, reminds travelers to check flights on smart phones, online or by telephone before heading to the airport.  Jennifer Bonnett found out on her smart phone that she'd be staying in Milwaukee longer than expected.

"I got a text message right as we got to the parking lot that my Southwest flight has been canceled to Denver. I am rebooked for 6:45 but I am nervous we won't get out then either," says Bonnett.

CBS 58's Elizabeth Fay has the story from the airport.
