WHITEFISH BAY - Big retail chains are usually the focus of Black Friday, but in Whitefish Bay small businesses are also thriving.

he village's downtown is known for its many small businesses that offer unique products and services. It's motto is, "shop small all year round" and on Black Friday business was good for the independent stores.

Studies show more money stays in a local community when people shop small businesses compared to the large chains.

These independent businesses are expected to continue to see good sales tomorrow for what's called Small Business Saturday.
