MILWAUKEE—Milwaukee Police are investigating after a fire broke out at a duplex home near 30th & Burnham around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

When crews arrived on scene the five residents had gotten out safely, but there were still cats trapped inside.

The Milwaukee Fire Department rescued and revived seven cats who were in a closet.

It is estimated that the fire caused $7,500 worth of damage to the building itself and $5,000 to its contents.
