Semi carrying french fries involved in rollover crash

by Becky Mortensen

MILWAUKEE --- A semi truck carrying a load of french fries rolled over in the Mitchell Interchange Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. in the west to south lanes on I-894 eastbound to I-94 eastbound.

The truck was damaged so rescue crews had to assist the driver and a passenger out of the cab. The passenger suffered a shoulder injury and the driver was not hurt.

The truck was carrying a 42,000 pound load of french fries. Traffic was slowed for hours because the extensive damage to the truck made it difficult for crews to clean up.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating what caused the crash.
