Results of independent investigation into Michael Bell's 2004 death
BROOKFIELD -- On November 9, 2004, a Kenosha family's life changed forever.
Michael Bell, 21, was shot and killed during a traffic stop made by Kenosha Police. His family says they have evidence that proves a police officer shot and killed Bell in cold blood and covered it up, and plan to release the information Tuesday. The Bell family will speak out at their Brookfield-based attorney's office. Dash cam video shows officers attempting to arrest Bell during a traffic stop outside his family's home. His family sued the officers involved in the incident for using excessive force and won a $1.7 million award. The family used the money to pay for billboards questioning the way police departments investigate in-custody deaths and for an independent investigation into Bell's death. |
