Racine tops state unemployment rate
RACINE- Wisconsin's highest unemployment rate is in the city of Racine.
Racine's rate is at 11.9 percent according to the latest numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development from December of 2012. That number was up from November 2012 and December 2011. The city of Beloit was second and Milwaukee was third. Racine Mayor John Dickert said that the city is working on the issue. He said the city is working on a comprehensive plan to bring in more companies, businesses, and projects to the city. He added he wants to make it easier for companies to come to Racine. He told CBS 58 that one plan involves bringing in water based companies. |
