MOUNT PLEASANT -- Three 17-year-old boys from the Racine area were chased and beat with bats in Mount Pleasant around 3:00 a.m. on St. Patrick's Day.

Mount Pleasant police responded to reports of a silver car and a dark colored pickup truck driving recklessly near the 1200 block of Rosalind Ave. They found a Dodge Neon with several windows smashed out.

Police say a silver Dodge Neon was being chased by a pickup truck. That chase ended when the Neon turned onto a road with a dead end, and got stuck in the snow. After the car crashed, the occupants of the truck got out and began smashing the windows of the Neon using bats.

One of the teens in the Neon was dragged from the car and beat with a bat. That teen was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital with a head injury.

The victims say they don't know the men who beat them with a bat. Police continue to investigate this incident. If you have any information about this incident, please call Mount Pleasant police at 262-884-0454.
