RACINE- Police in Racine are now saying that an 84-year-old man was murdered last week.

An autopsy was completed on Donald Thompson on November 9th.

It was ruled that he died as the result of traumatic injuries.

This incident is considered a homicide and the investigation is active and ongoing.

"It's rough to find out that your 84-year-old neighbor was murdered," Lynnelle Knudtson, Thompson's longtime neighbor, said.

CBS 58 spoke with Thompson's family Tuesday morning after the case was ruled a homicide, but they were still too distraught to talk on camera and wanted to find out more from the investigation.

On November 8th, 2012 at about 3:20 P.M a relative found the 84 year old Thompson unconscious inside his home in the 4300 block of Victory Ave.

The relative called The Racine County Communications Department. The Racine Police Department and Racine Fire Department Rescue responded and located the victim deceased.
