Public meeting Tuesday evening for I-794 Lakefront Gateway Project
$34 million project includes work on the Lake Interchange and local roads, including an extension of Lincoln Memorial Drive
MILWAUKEE -- A public meeting on a multi-million dollar Lakefront reconstruction project is planned for Tuesday evening.
This is the second public meeting about the I-794 Lakefront Gateway Project, a $34 million plan that includes work on the Lake Interchange and local roads, including an extension of Lincoln Memorial Drive and realignment of ramps and streets.
Officials say the projects will support development along the lakefront.
Preliminary engineering started in November and design work with construction is expected to begin in fall of 2015 and continue through summer 2016.
Tonight's meeting will be in open house format and several project designers will be available to discuss details of the project.
The meeting is from 4 to 7 p.m. at O'Donnell Park, 910 E. Michigan Street, in Miller Room.
