Public gets first look at jaguar cubs
MILWAUKEE---The Milwaukee County Zoo will announce new details about the birth of two jaguar cubs in a press conference at noon Thursday.
This will be the first time the public will see the cubs on a live video stream. The two cubs were born Nov. 13 to first time mother, Stella, and father, Pat. The cubs’ father is a rescued, wild-born animal. The cubs currently weigh about 5.4 and 5.9 pounds; both are steadily gaining weight. The cubs will receive their first exams and vaccines from Zoo veterinary staff at six weeks of age, at that time their sexes will be determined. In early January, the live stream of the cubs will be available on the Zoo’s website: milwaukeezoo.org. The last time the Zoo displayed jaguar cubs was in 1975. |
