Protesters hit the streets after no charges filed against cops in Williams case

by Chris Patterson

MILWAUKEE -- Protesters hit the streets a couple days after Special Prosecutor John Franke decided not to press charges against Milwaukee police officers for not rendering assistance the night Derek Williams died.

A jury said there was enough evidence to charge the Milwaukee police officers, but Franke disagrees. In a report released today Franke said he there is not way to determine if medical assistance would have made a difference at all.

Frank does say the failure of police officers to render assistance in a timely fashion "was a grievous mistake".
