President Obama rallies crowd in Madison
MADISON---President Obama received a warm welcome by the thousands who turned up to see him at the University of Wisconsin Thursday afternoon.
According to campus police, 30,000 people are estimated to have shown up. In 2010, Obama's last visit to the Madison campus, 26,000 came to see the President. President Barack Obama encouraged the crowd to get out and not only vote, but vote early. In Wisconsin, early voting starts October 22nd and runs through November 2nd. His campus speech Thursday touched on key campaign themes of funding education and creating jobs. He also joked about his debate Wednesday night with Mitt Romney. The President's speech lasted 25 minutes. |
