2 suspects arrested in connection with El Rey Supermarket fire

MILWAUKEE --  Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a fire at El Rey Supermarket.

Fire crews responded to the El Rey supermarket on 52nd and Oklahoma around 10:52 p.m. Thursday.

The fire was under control by 1:00 a.m.

We have confirmed the fire started on the outside of the building. The damage to the El Rey store is extensive, forcing the store to temporarily close until atleast Wednesday.

"The inventory is almost a total loss," said Olivia Villarreal, Corporate Administrator for El Rey Supermarkets.

Milwaukee police released video of two suspicious males seen loitering outside the grocery store around the time the fire started. Watch the video below:



No one was injured in this incident.

This is the chain's newest location. It opened in October 2011.
