Police investigate why Milwaukee girls ran away from home

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police released details about how to missing girls were found and delivered to a police station. Nine-year-old Samaria Johnson and four-year-old Olivia Erkins ran away from home during the evening hours of March 23rd.

The two girls were found and returned to police on March 24th. Police say a concerned citizen saw the girls and found it odd they were out by themselves at night. After trying to contact the children's family, the concerned citizen brought the girls to the District 5 police station.

Police report the girls did not appear to be harmed while out overnight. Milwaukee police continue to investigate the girl's motivation for running away from their home.
