Police investigate deadly shooting at Papa John's restaurant

MILWAUKEE --Milwaukee Police are investigating a deadly shooting at a popular pizza place in the middle of a busy south side shopping center.

It happened at a Papa John's restaurant on the city's south side near 27th St and Ohio around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

24-year-old Joseph Griffin was shot dead in what appears to be an accident caused by an employee.

Police said that a Papa John’s employee was showing off a gun to a an acquaintance who had come to the restaurant.

That’s when the gun discharged killing Griffin.

That employee is now in police custody.
