MILWAUKEE --- Police say 66-year-old Greg Friberg is in stable condition after suffering from two stab wounds to the neck.

Officer Friberg is the capitol police officer stabbed in the neck by a 25-year-old West Allis man Wednesday.

Officer Friber has been a limited term employee with the Capitol Police Department since 2001. He is often assigned to patrol the State Office Building and serves as a Lt. at State Fair Park.

He was attacked yesterday around 1:00 p.m. after he and another officer responded to a duress alarm on the fourth floor of the state office building.

Police say the stabbing was not a random act and have a suspect in custody for the incident.
