Petition drive against Chief Flynn
MILWAUKEE - Volunteers are busy in Downtown Milwaukee collecting signatures against Police Chief Ed Flynn. They're hoping this petition drive leads to the Chief's resignation or his removal from office.
The group is upset over several high profile incidents involving Milwaukee Police, including the death of a suspect in the back of a squad car. They plan to collect signatures for at least the next couple of weeks. They'll hand them over to the Fire and Police Commission in hopes they take action against Chief Flynn. At this point, Mayor Tom Barrett stands by the Chief. Chief Flynn says his officers could have done better in the Williams' case and promises they will next time a situation like that arises. The Chief also says he has no plans to step down. |
