Officer Involved Shooting on Milwaukee's Northwest sideMILWAUKEE -- A man was taken to the hospital after an early morning shooting involving a Milwaukee Police officer. The department tells CBS 58 that officers were called to 38th and Galena shortly before 4:00 this morning for reports of a suicidal man. When a Sergeant from the department asked the suspect to drop a weapon in his hands, he did not. Police say the officer was then forced to shoot the man two times because he felt threatened. No one else was hurt. The 56 year old man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. As is procedure the officer is now on administrative leave as the shooting is investigated. |
