MILWAUKEE---Police say a woman is in the hospital after a police officer shot her.

Police say the woman was driving a stolen vehicle when she intentionally rammed an officer's squad car near 72nd and Mill just before 7:00 p.m. Monday.

The department says the officer fired his weapon to stop the threat.

The suspect is a 31-year-old woman. Her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The officer is a 42-year-old who has been on the force for eight years. He is assigned to the Neighborhood Policing Bureau.
