CHICAGO---President Barack Obama was projected the winner of the election by 10:15 p.m. by CBS News.

Mitt Romney's concession speech didn't come until shortly before midnight.

Romney was reportedly waiting for the majority of votes to come in from battleground Ohio which went to Obama.

In his speech, Romney said he gave the campaign all he could and that he sent prayers to the President and his family.

Obama picked up key victories early in Iowa, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire, giving him the electoral votes he needed to win the presidency for a second term.

Ohio, with 18 electoral votes, is one of the most competitive states on the map. Obama won the state by 4.6 percent in 2008.
