New Life for Two Local Malls

GREENDALE- Southridge mall celebrates recent renovations with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The shopping center replaced the carpeting, tiling, lighting and created a play area and train for kids. The entrances and food court recieved upgrades and numerous retailers were added including Macy's, Tilly's and Teavana.

"This has taken Southridge to the next level," says Southridge Mall Manager, Mary Mokwa.

She announced today the mall will add a few new tenants to the property including Italian restaurant, Buca di Beppo, LongHorn Steakhouse and clothing stores Old Navy and Loft.

About 20 miles North, Northridge Mall shows new promise. Wauwatosa-based company, Penzey's Spices is in negotiations to purchase the vacant property, according to City of Milwaukee Department of Development Commissioner, Rocky Marcoux. The mall closed more than a decade ago. CBS 58's Elizabeth Fay explains Penzey's plans.
