New Information on Fatal House Fire in Racine

RACINE---New developments in a fire that cost two children their lives in Racine early Thursday morning.

It turns out that family had their power turned off last month.

The fire took place in a two story house on Linden Avenue just before 1:00 a.m.

WE Energies say the electiricy to the house was turned off about a month ago, just weeks ahead of the November 1st deadline.

CBS 58 has also learned that representatives from the utility company visited the house earlier this week and left information for the family on ways to stay safe without power.

Firefighters pulled four children out of the house.

9-year-old Dayja Scott died and 8-year-old Dalija Scott also died.

7-year-old Michael Scott and 5-year-old Luther Patterson are hospitalized and in very poor condition.

Police have not ruled on a cause for the fire.
