NEW BERLIN -- Early Thursday morning, New Berlin Police responded to a report of a subject entering and removing items from unlocked vehicles in the 13400 W. National Ave area. Police officers located the vehicle, along with two suspects inside, but they took off from the scene while officers were attempting contact with occupants.

Police was then informed that the vehicle was also listed as stolen out of West Allis. Officers followed the vehicle into West Allis where the suspects crashed at the intersection of 84th and Greenfield Ave.

Both subjects fled from the crash scene. One of the suspects was later apprehended after sustaining injuries and transported to Froedert Hospital, and is now in custody. The other suspect is still at large.

Inside the crashed suspect vehicle were multiple items that were taken from various vehicles located in the New Berlin area.

No officers were injured in the pursuit and the report is still under investigation.
