Nearly 100 dogs up for adoption

MILWAUKEE --- The Wisconsin Humane Society reports that there are nearly 100 dogs and puppies available for adoption at their Milwaukee and Ozaukee campuses.

This is the largest number of dogs they’ve had at one time all year.

With four additional transfers scheduled to arrive next week, the organization expects their number of available dogs to remain inflated.

The upcoming month is National Adopt a Dog Month and organizers are hoping the dogs won't remain homeless.

“October happens to be National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, so we’re hoping that families in our community will open their hearts and homes to the many wonderful dogs and puppies currently in our care,” said Anne Reed, executive director at Wiscons Humane Society.
