Milwaukee woman charged in weekend stabbing

MILWAUKEE -- Sheneeka Long is charged with First Degree Reckless Homicide after allegedly stabbing another woman to death during a fight. Witnesses say the victim Shirley Eskridge volunteered to fight Long on July 6th.

The criminal complaint says Long was upset people in the neighborhood were calling her a slut. A witness told police Long began challenging men and women to a fight as she made threats about killing people. The witness also told police Long told people to move their children inside the house, because she had people with guns coming over.

According to witness statement, Eskridge volunteered to fight because they were both women and it would end this incident. The two women threw a few punches, but Long allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Eskridge several times.

Eskridge was pronounced dead at the scene at the scene. The Medical Examiner's office determined her cause of death was loss of blood.

If convicted, Long faces up to 60 years in prison.
