Milwaukee man opens fire on crowd of 10 with assault rifle; Two people injured

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police have responded to a double shooting near N. 28th St. and W. Atkinson Ave. that took place around 2:20 p.m. We're told both adult victims, one male and one female, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The 48-year-old suspect opened fire on about 10 people with a semi-automatic assault rifle, hitting two. Two plain-clothes officers saw the shooting, and eventually arrested the suspect. Police say the suspect lives in the area, and has a long criminal history.

Milwaukee police recovered the assault rifle used in this double shooting.
