Milwaukee police identify teen killed in fatal Capitol Dr. accident

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police has identified the 16-year-old killed in a crash on Capitol Dr. near 34th St. as Darrien Thomas. Thomas was riding in a stolen SUV involved in a single vehicle crash on January 16th around 1:30 a.m.

According to police Thomas and other unidentified individuals were riding in a stolen 2004 Jeep Liberty. The vehicle swerved off the road, and struck a tree in the median. The vehicle continued headed east on Capitol Dr. until it hit a light pole.

Police have determined that there were other occupants in the vehicle who fled the scene. The SUV was reported stolen on January 14th.
